“The Woman of the Ilmenau
– a captivating tale from the Ilmenau Chronicle”
A Woman by the Ilmenau
[Verse 1]
She waits by the river, wrapped in mist, a shadowed figure the night has kissed. Her gaze cuts sharp, her silence deep, the Ilmenau hides what she will keep.
[Chorus 1]
A woman by the Ilmenau… her smile is soft, but the truth won’t allow. Her perfume lingers, heavy and near, a promise made of danger and fear.
[Verse 2]
Her dress is dark, it drinks the light, she bends the fog, she bends the night. No words are wasted, none are kind, she speaks in riddles, she speaks in time.
[Verse 3]
/span>She whispers low: “Some names will stay, they cling to air, they won’t decay.” Each syllable a sharpened knife, a vow, a warning, a stolen life.
[Chorus 2]
A woman by the Ilmenau… her voice is soft, but it cuts somehow. Her eyes hold secrets, sharp and clear, they mark the names that should not appear.
[Verse 4]
She steps in close, the scent is strong, a darker song that lingers long. He knows he should, but cannot go, the river hums, it seems to know.
[Verse 5]
“The list,” she says, “is not their doom, but yours to bear, it seals your tomb.” Her lips don’t tremble, her eyes don’t lie, the fog surrounds, the echoes cry.
[Bridge]
The river laughs, the current sways, her shadow twists in subtle ways. No truth remains, no vow is true, the Ilmenau belongs to you.
[Verse 6]
Her laughter cuts, a hollow sound, it fills the night, it shakes the ground. He stands in smoke, he cannot flee, her gaze has bound his memory.
[Verse 7]
A final smile, it takes his breath, a look that speaks of love and death. The river listens, the city sleeps, and what she claims, the water keeps.
[Chorus 3 – Final]
A woman by the Ilmenau… her smile is soft, but the truth knows how. Her lips can promise, her eyes condemn, the river speaks, it speaks through them.
[Outro]
A woman… by the Ilmenau. Her name is gone, but she holds you now. The river keeps her vow.
